Comprised of pianist Menghua Lin, violinist Sue Mi Shin, and cellist Katie Youn, the Shoreline Piano Trio is quickly rising to acclaim for its energy and expressivity. The trio was formed in 2019 and gave a debut performance at the Palo Alto Art Center. Highlights of recent performances include appearances at Fortnightly Music Club and Stanford Hospital’s Bing Concert Series.
Members of the trio bring together a diverse background of chamber music experience and culture, collaborating with artists such as Cleveland String Quartet, American String Quartet, Borromeo String Quartet, Verdehr Trio, Daniel Phillips, and Peter Zazofsky. Additionally, they have performed as featured artists for Suolahi Music Festival in Finland, the Banff Center, Amalfi Music and Art Festival.
As music educators, all three members hold Doctor of Musical Arts degrees and hold teaching positions at Santa Clara University and at Community School for Music and Arts and served on music faculty at Notre Dame de Namur University, Boston University, Oikos University and at Carnegie Mellon University Pre-College Division.
The ensemble is named after Shoreline Street in Mountain View, California where the trio met and had their first music reading together.
